Moral of the Story

Respect other people's belongings and home.

A curious little girl wanders into the home of three bears and helps herself to their porridge, chairs, and beds — until the bears come home.

The Story

Once upon a time, three bears lived together in a cozy cottage in the forest — a great big Papa Bear, a medium-sized Mama Bear, and a tiny Baby Bear.

One morning, Mama Bear made three bowls of porridge for breakfast. It was too hot, so the bears went for a walk in the forest while it cooled.

Not long after, a girl with golden curls named Goldilocks wandered by. Finding the door open, she stepped inside. She tasted Papa Bear's porridge — too hot! She tasted Mama Bear's porridge — too cold! She tasted Baby Bear's porridge — just right! And she ate it all up.

Next, she tried the chairs. Papa Bear's chair was too hard. Mama Bear's chair was too soft. Baby Bear's chair was just right — but she rocked so hard it broke into pieces!

Feeling sleepy, Goldilocks went upstairs. Papa Bear's bed was too firm. Mama Bear's bed was too soft. Baby Bear's bed was just right, and she fell fast asleep.

Soon, the three bears came home. "Someone's been eating my porridge!" roared Papa Bear. "Someone's been eating MY porridge!" said Mama Bear. "Someone's been eating MY porridge — and ate it all up!" cried Baby Bear.

Upstairs, they found their beds disturbed. When Baby Bear cried "Someone's sleeping in MY bed — and here she is!" Goldilocks woke up, saw three bears staring at her, and leaped out the window. She ran all the way home and never wandered into strangers' houses again.
